Things to Do When Visiting The Beautiful City of Barcelona

Have you been to this beautiful city of Barcelona? I am glad, I did and I truly love this amazing capital of Catalonia. It is also the largest city of this region and the second largest in Spain. It is a historic city  dating back being at least 2,000 years when it gained prominence as a Roman city.  It hosted the 1992 Olympic Games  which brought a massive upturn in its tourism industry.

Barcelona is one of the world’s major global cities. It is one of the world’s leading tourist, economic and cultural centers. No wonder many tourists around  the world including myself would love to visit it.

Visiting Barcelona is truly a great experience. There are a lot of things to do and see here. It is a big city and visiting it for a day is just not enough to experience everything but if you book barcelona guided travel tours, you will surely experience mostly everything in this city.

Here the top things to do when you are visiting Barcelona;

Visit its famous sights

Barcelona has a lot of interesting sights to see. Don’t miss visiting the La Sagrada Familia, Casa Mila, Park Guell, Casa Batlo, the Gothic church of Santa Maria del Pi, the Arch of Triumph, the Columbus Monument, the Cathedral of St. Eulalia and many more.

The famous La Sagrada Familia considered the most famous building in the entire city. Although incomplete, the church is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In order to experience more of its sights, I suggest you to do the vesping. Why vesping? You can rent a vespa and while riding it, you can save time and see more sights. You can also have a vesping travel assistant if you want too. With this means of transportation, you can explore the city at your own plan and it is easy to get around the city as well. Barcelona gps tours are also provided. Why not experience this new travel experience and see many lovely sights in this city?

Go Shopping

Why not? Barcelona has many shops, shopping malls ans supermarkest. Among the famous one is the El Corte Inglés. Visiting its large market like the La Boqueria in Ciutat Vella will also give you a memorable shopping experience. Don’t forget to buy souvenirs from Barcelona. Among the famous one is the Spanish Pata negra ham which you can buy in Jamonarium.

Stroll the Famous Streets in Ciutat Vella (Old City)

During my visit in Barcelona in 2012, our tour guide once mentioned that Les Rambles (Catalan) or La Rambla is one of the most beautiful and liveliest street not only in Spain but maybe around the world. The La Plaça de Catalunya is also a great area if you want to see fountains and statues and the shops that surround it. It is the favourite meeting place of both locals and tourists.
