City Break in Moscow

This is one of the world’s greatest cities with endless attractions to offer to its tourists and visitors. Moscow is the capital of Russia and the largest city in Europe. Some of the main sights to see include the Red Square known as the heart of Moscow, St. Basil Cathedral, The Kremlin, Lenin Mausoleum, Bolshoi Theatre, Novodevichy Convent and many more. If you love to visit a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Church of the Ascension with its Byzantine style is worth to see. Moscow is also famous for its opera, theatre, 2circuses and many other attractions. It is also a great place to go ice skating. If you have the chance, experience the hot air balloon ride in Suburban Moscow. For sure visiting this city will add to one of your memorable travel portfolios. Just a reminder, people here are not so friendly especially for non-Russian speaker.

Saint Petersburg

This city is considered is considered to be one of the world’s top travel destinations. I have seen a lot of images from Saint Petersburg in travel magazines and I was impressed by it. It is also known for its world’s best museums, the Hermitage. It is the second largest city of Russia, founded by St. Peter the Great in 1703. The Historic Center of Saint Petersburg and Related Groups of Monuments belong to the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

The Russian Museum, Peter and Paul Fortress, Church of the Saviour on Spilled Blood, Saint Isaac’s Cathedral, Alexander Nevskiy Monastery are only some of the nteresting sights to see. Don’t miss to visit Vasilievsky Island if you have more time for sightseeing. It is also said that you better not visit Saint Petersburg if you don’t want to see its famous opera and ballet performance. Experience a tour of the canals in this so-called “The Venice of the North”. This is a great way of seeing this city especially during summer season.

Night Life in the Cities

Most big cities in Russia are famous for its night life. They know how to party. There are always huge and excellent selection of nightclubs, bars and pubs that will satisfy tourists and visitors looking for fun and night out. Music from rock, hiphop, R&B, jazz, techno and a lot more are mostly played in clubs.

Ecotourism

What can you expect with a huge land like Russia. It is very rich in natural resources. It has 10 National Parks and 101 Nature Reserves covering a total land mass larger than Germany. Ecotourism is one of the best ways to experience this country. An outdoor journey to explore Russia’s natural environment can be a priceless experience. There are travel agencies specializing in ecotourism in Russia. Check it out in the internet before doing some ecotourism trip.

These are only some of the few things you can do and see in this huge land of Russia. There are still other interesting cities to visit and sights to see. Just a reminder, always keep you Identification card with you especially when a police officer will ask for it.

Oh last summer we took a trip through Moscow and we went through the Irkutsk. It was so beautiful and Moscow is an amazing city. We went via train and used these guys: http://www.trans-siberian.co.uk. They were quite good at letting us choose the hop off and on itinerary. But yeah Russia is a must see destination!
