Visit to the Supertree Grove at Gardens by the Bay

Travel excitement is over after I visited Singapore and I was  a happy wanderlust when I was there. I am also happy right now  because another trip will happen before the end of the year. I am glad, I got the confirmation of my vacation leave last week. With it, I was able to plan another trip  accordingly. I  am actually very excited after booking it because I will be traveling to another continent  again. Where it is? For now, it will be a secret.

The Supertrees at the gardens by the Bay in Singapore. They  are tree-like structures that dominate the Gardens’ landscape with heights that range between 25 metres (82 ft) and 50 metres (160 ft). They are vertical gardens that perform a multitude of functions, which include planting, shading and working as environmental engines for the gardens.

It was a great holiday I had with my sister in Singapore last May of this year. I was able to experience so many sights from this island country in Southeast Asia.  Geographically speaking, Singapore lies off the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula and is 137 kilometres (85 mi) north of the equator.

It is one of the countries I visited during my trip in Southeast Asia. The trip was quite planned  and that dream of visiting this country finally  came true. I  thought, I can only see photos of Singapore from my friends who traveled there. This time, I did able to experience it  myself.

I love especially the engineering of these so-called Supertrees. Since I am also a nature-lover and loves gardening so much, these sights truly amazed me. The Supertrees are home to enclaves of unique and exotic ferns, vines, orchids and also a vast collection of bromeliads such as Tillandsia. I can’t imagine as a gardener and plant-grower before, I   have most of these exotic plants in my garden. I just said, “WOW” when I visited this beautiful sights of Singapore.

Special thanks to good friends for their kindness and generosity in offering their home for us to stay. I am truly grateful!

Until then! I am off to dreamland now!

You are right Ruby, the Supertrees look like a “wow” kind of sight. Unfortunately they didn’t exist when I visited Singapore, but on the other hand they are giving me another great reason to go back soon… 🙂
