Playa Blanca
Located as part of the Papagayo region of beaches, Playa Blanca is located along the eastern side of Lanzarote. Playa Blanca is centrally located, which makes it perfect for getting away to other areas if you want to get away from the beach for a few hours. But with beautiful water and sand, you may get lost with your feet in the sand and never want to leave Playa Blanca.

Playa Grande
The name Grande makes sense, especially since this beach stretches over 1km in length. That means that even during the busy summer months, you’ll still have room to find a place to sit and relax, without being crowded by people right next to you. Keep in mind that you can rent seats and shade on the beach, in case things get too hot. And you are also just a short walk away from the busy area of Puerto del Carmen, which is one of the busiest places in all of Lanzarote.

Playa Matagorda
Another one of Lanzarote’s largest beaches is Playa Matagorda. Located just eastward of Playa Grande, it offers a good stretch of real estate along the ocean. For families with small children, this may be the best place to visit, as it offers the most amount of room to really run around and not be interrupted by other vacationers.

Playa del las Cucharas
If you love to windsurf, fly kites, or enjoy other windy activities, be sure to look at Playa de las Cucharas. This beach is part of Costa Teguise, one of the largest resorts in Lanzarote. In the area are plenty of bars and restaurants, which are perfect to sneak away for a midday snack during your time at the beach.

Playa Famara
On the northern side of Lanzarote is Playa Famara. This beach stretches over 3km and is the number one destination for surfers who come to the island. While many people head to Lanzarote for the summer seasons to take in the beaches, surf season is in its prime from November to March. This means that while you may need to bring a wetsuit for everyone in your family, you are also likely to get better deals on hotels and see a less crowded island during a slower period.

Lanzarote offers a plethora of fantastic options for families that are looking to spend a vacation on the beach  just lounging around. Whether you are looking for great water sports, great food, or simply just somewhere to tuck your feet and get lost in the sun, you can do it in Lanzarote. While your there, consider the beaches on this list to get a head start on the best places to visit.
