This is the Danube River that flows in Kelheim, a municipality in Bavaria, Germany. Danube is known to be the second longest river in the whole of Europe next to Volga but the longest river in European Union. That building you see on top of the hill is the famous Befreiungshalle or Hall of Liberation of King Ludwig I of Bavaria. We had a cruise there sometimes this month and it was really interesting seeing places and nature around.

Let’s go travel this time London Eye in London, England. This ferris wheel is truly amazing! How would you love to ride in this famous attraction of London? I bet you would like to! Don’t miss to experience London Eye once you visit London. Be sure to also search for promo tickets in advance in the Internet. Below is a photo of the London Eye taken during dusk time. You can also see the dark sky due to cloudy weather. This is the typical weather in London during autumn and winter time. You can see in the background the Big Ben tower and the Parliament Buildings near it. Just a simple travel tip when you visit London; be sure to bring you an umbrella because rain might be pouring anytime.
Here is a short info about London Eye courtesy of Wikipedia
“The London Eye (also known as the Millennium Wheel), at a height of 135 metres (443 ft), is the biggest Ferris wheel in Europe, and has become the most popular paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom, visited by over three million people in one year. At the time it was erected, in 1999, it was the tallest Ferris wheel in the world, until it was surpassed by the Star of Nanchang (160 m) in May 2006, and then the Singapore Flyer (165 m) on 11 February 2008. However, it is still described by its operators as “the world’s tallest cantilevered observation wheel” (because the entire structure is supported by an A-frame on one side only).
The London Eye is located at the western end of Jubilee Gardens, on the South Bank of the River Thames in London, England, between Westminster Bridge and Hungerford Bridge. The site is adjacent to that of the former Dome of Discovery, which was built for the Festival of Britain in 1951.

It was a very nice weather last Sunday as the different groups and participants of the Jura Public Festival had a parade in Neumarkt in Upper Palatinate in the state of Bavaria, Germany. The Jura Volksfest, also called as Public Festival in English is still going on until now. It started last Friday August 07, 2009 and will last until Monday, August 17, 2009. The parade passes the Innendstadt or Inner City of Neumarkt where we also watched it. Amazing festival in Bavaria! here are some photos taken by Mr. Author of this site.

even the kids also participated during the parade..It was a successful one. Ot seems that their attire here are quite appealing.

horse carriages were also present during the Jura Volksfest parade. In fact there were a lot of participants with different horses which are ornamented with colorful decorations.

their black and red dresses and costumes looks like the ones that are worn by Royal Guards in London.

another colourful carriage and the these horses are also decorated..love it!

Let’s go travel and see this time Salzburg City in Austria. We feature this time the Hohensalzburg Fortress or Castle which is considered to be the symbol of Salzburg. It is the largest and best-preserved citadel in Europe. Its construction begun in 1077 under Archbishop Gebhard. We have been to this city twice but we never had the chance to go up to the castle. You can go up to the castle by means of a funicular railway. Another alternative is a 10-minute walk by way of the Festungsghasse. We considered Salzburg one of the interesting cities in Europe! Have fun viewing all the photos here!

This is the Pferdeschwemme or Horse Pond in Salzburg, Austria. It was built in 1695. The horses from the archbishop’s stables were washed here during those times. It was designed by Fischer v. Erlach and the horse frescos were painted by the Court painter Franz Anton Ebner. In the center stands a statue of horse being trained. It was created by sculptor Michael Mandl. The splendid Horse Pond underlines the importance of horses in the Baroque period.
We forgot to get a closer picture of the Horse Pond. Hopefully in our next trip to Austria next time. Have a great day and have fun viewing.
