Go and See Frankfurt, Germany

The place where I first landed in Germany is in Frankfurt International Airport. I was only till the airport at that time…Only last march 2008 that I visited this old but very interesting city of Germany..It is known as “the Manhattan in Germany” due its tall buildings here. This is where most of Germany’s financial institution and offices are located.

We went there by train and really enjoyed our trip..It was still cold that time as we went there..I was amazed by the very old but beautiful and attractive buildings here especially in the so called old city…Frankfurt is really terrific!!

Visit this blog Euroangel’s Exploring Germany for more infos about Germany…

thanks for visiting me here!!! take care everyone!!

a little info about Germany from Wikipedia

Frankfurt (German: [ˈfʁaŋkfʊɐtʰ], English: [ˈfɹæŋkfɜːt]) is the largest city in the German state of Hesse and the fifth-largest city in Germany, with a 2008 population of 670,000. The urban area had an estimated population of 2.26 million in 2001.[1] The city is at the centre of the larger Frankfurt Rhine Main Region which has a population of 5.3 million and is Germany’s second largest metropolitan area.

Situated on the River Main, Frankfurt is the financial and transportation centre of Germany and one of the two largest financial centres in continental Europe, the other being Paris. It is the place of residence of the European Central Bank, the German Federal Bank, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and the Frankfurt Trade Fair, as well as several large commercial banks. Frankfurt International Airport is one of the world’s busiest airports, Frankfurt Central Station is one of the largest terminal stations in Europe, and the Frankfurter Kreuz (Autobahn interchange) is the most heavily used interchange in continental Europe. Frankfurt is the only German city listed as one of ten Alpha world cities.

Among English speakers the city is commonly known simply as “Frankfurt”, though Germans occasionally call it by its full name when it is necessary to distinguish it from the other (significantly smaller) Frankfurt in the German state of Brandenburg, known as Frankfurt (Oder). It is also called Frankfort-on-the-Main in English, a translation of Frankfurt am Main.

The Dom (Cathedral) is a very interesting example of pure German Gothic and counts as the main work of Gothic architecture in Bavaria. It was founded in 1275 and completed in 1634, with the exception of the towers, which were finished in 1869. The interior contains numerous interesting monuments, including one of Peter Vischer’s masterpieces. Adjoining the cloisters are two chapels of earlier date than the cathedral itself, one of which, known as the old cathedral, goes back perhaps to the 8th century. The official choir for the liturgical music at St Peter’s Cathedral are the famous Regensburger Domspatzen.

Regensburg ([‘reːgənsbʊɐk], also Ratisbon, Latin: Ratisbona, Czech: Řezno, originally Castra Regina) is a city (population 131,000 in 2007) in Bavaria, Germany, located at the confluence of the Danube and Regen rivers, at the northernmost bend in the Danube. To the east lies the Bavarian Forest. Regensburg is the capital of the Bavarian administrative region Upper Palatinate. The large medieval center of the city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

just a little info from Wikipedia about carnival

Carnival is a festival season which occurs immediately before Lent; the main events are usually during February or March. It typically involves a public celebration or parade combining some elements of a circus and public street party. People often dress up or masquerade during the celebrations.

Carnival is mostly associated with Roman Catholic and, to a lesser extent, Eastern Orthodox Christians; Protestant areas usually do not have carnival celebrations or have modified traditions, like the Danish Carnival. The world’s largest carnival celebration is held in Brazil but many countries worldwide have large, popular celebrations, such as Carnaval of Venice, or the world famous German celebrations.

Go and see Bohol, Philippines

I was in Bohol with husband and some members of the family..That was during our vacation last October- November 2006..How I just miss my home now.!!.I know Germany is my new home but nothing really compares to Philippines who is my original home..There are still lots of things that I need to discover in the Philippines..hopefully next time again!!

I have some photos here for you to see this very beautiful and amazing beauty of nature..
keep visiting as this site will be a very interesting one! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chocolate_Hills)

the tourist in Chocolate Hills, Bohol. Philippines

The Chocolate Hills is a rolling terrain of haycock hills — mounds of general shape which are conical and almost symmetrical.[8] Estimated to be at least 1,268 individual mounds to about 1,776, these cone-shaped or dome-shaped hills are actually grass-covered limestone hills. The large and numerous perfect domes vary in sizes from 30 to 50 metres (98 to 160 ft) high with the largest being 120 metres (390 ft) in height. Aesthetically extensive, they are scattered throughout the towns of Carmen, Batuan and Sagbayan in Bohol.[9] Bohol’s “main attraction”, these unique mound-shaped hills are scattered by the thousands on the island’s central plain, concentrated near the town of Carmen.

At dawn or at sunset, the Chocolate Hills are an alluring sight; the whole area picturesque amidst the rice fields and the clusters of houses made of the diamond patterned sawali or bamboo slats.

During the dry season, the precipitation is inadequate such that the grass-covered hills dry up and turn chocolate brown. This transforms the area into seemingly endless rows of “chocolate kisses”. The branded confection is the inspiration behind the name, Chocolate Hills.

perfectly cone hills….very very beautiful..only in the Philippines!!

Domain Blog

I finally decided to purchased a domain for this blog. I purhased it last Tuesday Aug. 12, 2008..My husband finally have a credit card.. We don’t use a credit card but since I figure out that really need one, I convinced my husband to get one…and we finally have it!!…I guess this is also good so I don’t have to disturb other friends who already help me about blogging.. Sometimes it is just shameful to ask for friends some favor about purchasing a domain. Blogger.com don’t accept paypal, so I guess this is better then.

Thanks to some friends out there who help me improve my blogging and all the tips and infos about blogging. I really appreciate everything and I mean it.. One day you will be rewarded in one way or another.

I know I still have to learn a lot in the blogosphere..at least I’m trying and learning new things here..but there are just things that I think I don’t have talent..Thanks once again to friends who help me here!!

Happy blogging!!!have a great weekend ahead!!
